Trevor Lunn MLA said: “These paramilitary style attacks were not acceptable during the Troubles and they are still not acceptable today. The vast majority of the public do not want to see violence on our streets. It is about time that these thugs realised that they do not have support from the community.
“I hope this man is able to make a full recovery from his injuries.
“I would urge anybody with any information about this attack to contact the police. These thugs must be taken off our streets before somebody else is hurt.”
