Lunn shocked at Lurgan explosion

Alliance Policing Board member Trevor Lunn MLA has expressed his shock after an explosion occurred in Lurgan at 3pm today close to where police officers were investigating reports of an un-notified parade. It is believed the explosion originated in a bin on the North Circular Road, there were no injuries.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “I am shocked at what appears to be an attempt to target police officers. The vast majority of the public will be outraged at this attack.

“The people responsible have no place in our society. There can be no justification for any attempt to bring violence onto our streets.

“If anybody has any information about this explosion then I would urge them to contact the police. I am just thankful that nobody was

injured.”
