Webb says there is no justification for targeting of Newtownabbey church

Alliance Newtownabbey Councillor Billy Webb has condemned those responsible for the suspicious device that was found at the Star of the Sea Church on the Shore Road. This is the fourth time this church has been targeted in recent months.

Cllr Billy Webb said: “It is completely unacceptable to target a place of worship, especially at Easter, one of the most important times in the church calendar.

“A number of elderly people have again been forced to leave their homes due to the actions of mindless thugs.

“If anybody has any information about this alert then I would urge them to contact the police.”
