Trevor Lunn MLA said: “This was a despicable crime that has shocked the local community. I can not comprehend what was going through the mind of the perpetrators when they carried out this disgusting crime.
“My thoughts are with this victim. I hope he is able to make a recovery after such a horrific crime.
“We must ensure that the police are given all the information they require to catch those responsible for this crime, so I would urge anybody who anything about this incident to contact the police.”
