Lunn says there must be no reprisals on stab death

Lagan Valley Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn has said individuals must listen to the family of Darren Roberts, who died after he was stabbed in Lisburn last weekend, and heed their calls for no retaliation. His comments come after stories emerged that graffiti had appeared and houses damaged following Darren’s death.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “I welcome the comments from Darren’s father and I call on people to heed them.

“The community is still reeling at news of Darren’s death and there must be calm at this difficult time. People must realise that no good ever comes from violence and they must respect the wishes of Darren’s family.

“People need to focus on stopping an atrocity like this from happening again in Lisburn. Knife crime wrecks lives and we need to see every possible effort made to raise awareness on this issue.”
