Trevor Lunn MLA said: “Since the DUP’s decision to stall the development of a peace and reconciliation centre at the Maze site, there has been a constant war of words raging among Unionists and Nationalist politicians that only further damages Northern Ireland’s reputation.
“The First and deputy First Minister have a responsibility to Northern Ireland, to lead by example and end this constant tirade of insults.
“The eyes of the world have been on Northern Ireland this year, with the G8 and more recently the successful World Police and Fire Games. OFMdFM need to move swiftly to give better certainty to investors about stability in Northern Ireland and the ability of our political institutions to follow through and deliver on projects.
“Concerns over the DUP’s willingness to discard a significant amount of European funding remain, but we must now unite to show Northern Ireland is open for business. This is particularly important ahead of the investment conference in October as we aim to attract more jobs and business from overseas companies.”
