Trevor Lunn MLA said: “This must have been a horrifying ordeal and the community will have been shocked by it.
“It is extremely difficult to contemplate the mindset of those who would conduct a disgusting attack of this nature. I hope this young man makes a speedy recovery and my thoughts are with him at this difficult time.
“I would urge anybody with any information about this shooting to contact the police.”
