Long shocked at kidnap and robbery in East Belfast

Alliance Castlereagh Councillor Michael Long has expressed his shock at a robbery on Saturday night in which two young people were held hostage. A woman was forced to take money from her workplace after two men entered her house and kept the two young people hostage until she handed over the money.

Cllr Michael Long said: “I am shocked and outraged at this incident. To hold two young people hostage just shows what callous thugs these men are.

“I hope that these three victims will be able to get over what must have been a very traumatic event of them. I dread to think what must have been going through their minds during their ordeal.

“If anybody has any information about this robbery then I would urge them to contact the police.”
