Stewart Dickson said: “I was saddened to hear of this woman’s death. My thoughts and sympathies are with her family at what must be a hard time for them.
“This death highlights the fatal dangers that house fires pose. I would encourage all people to make sure that they have working smoke alarms in their home.
“Every house should also have an escape plan to ensure that in the event of a fire, its occupants are able to quickly leave the buildings. If your house does not currently have an escape plan, I would urge people to plan one today.”
