Naomi Long MP said “Obviously, my thoughts are with the victim of this hijacking who I am sure will be incredibly shaken by the experience. That it happened on a busy road in the middle of the afternoon is particularly shocking.
“This spate of car hijackings must stop. Somebody could be seriously injured or worse if this series of crimes continues. People are scared that their car will be hijacked, so I would urge people to keep their doors locked and windows up.
“I would ask anyone in the area who may have witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in the lead up to it, to contact the police with any information which could help bring those responsible to justice.”
