Lunn says approval for new hotel demonstrates Lisburn’s economic potential

Lagan Valley Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn has welcomed news that planning approval has been given for a new hotel in Lisburn saying it underlines the strong economic potential of the area. The hotel which will contain around 100 bedrooms will be built in the Hillsborough Road area.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “This is good news for Lisburn and for the Northern Ireland’s economy.

“Lisburn is a city going places both from a n economic and a tourism perspective. The city of Lisburn is a key economic driver for Northern Ireland. It’s a great city to visit with many things to do in the area, and it also represents an excellent and central location to base any holiday in Northern Ireland.

“There are concerns about plans as regards some environmental issues, but I very much hope that the Environment Minister’s conditions imposed on the project will ensure that these concerns are addressed effectively. I hope the project is implemented in a sympathetic way which respects the natural beauty of the area and the importance of the Lagan to the community.”
