Alliance Ballymena Councillor Patricia O’Lynn has said the local community will be in shock after a murder investigation was launched by police investigating the death of a man in the town.

The deceased was found in the Orkney Drive area in the early hours of Saturday morning. A man arrested remains in custody.

“My thoughts are with the victim and his loved ones. I offer my deepest sympathies to them,” said Councillor O’Lynn.

“The local community in Ballykeel, as well as wider across Ballymena, will be in shock hearing this tragic news.

“I urge anyone with information on this shocking incident to contact police with it immediately.”
