Lo congratulates Queen’s on Sunday Times award

Alliance South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has welcomed the news that Queen’s University was the runner up in the Sunday Times University of the year award and was named top UK University for medical sciences and pharmacy. Queen’s moved up to 26^th position in the Sunday Times University guide, up 20 places from last year and its highest ever position.

Anna Lo MLA said: “This is wonderful news that Queen’s has been rightly recognised as one of the UK’s top Universities. I know that this result is down to the hard working staff, both in terms of teaching and those who run the University.

“To be awarded runner up in the Sunday Times University of the year is a magnificent achievement for all those involved in the university.

“Being awarded the best university for medical studies and pharmacy will go towards helping us encourage more students to continue their studies in STEM subjects. This is a very important research area which helps boost our local economy, so I am glad that their work has been rightly recognised.”
