Lo concerned at issues at Housing Executive and says investigation is vital

Alliance Social Development Spokesperson Anna Lo MLA has expressed concern following BBC investigations into the Housing Executive and said she is glad that Minister Alex Attwood is holding an investigation into the issues because she believes public confidence in the organisation is essential.

Anna Lo MLA said: “What was revealed within the BBC investigations is deeply troubling and we need to see a thorough examination of all these issues.

“When people need maintenance work done on their social housing they rightly expect it to be completed. It is vital that the Housing Executive can ensure delivery for their clients.

“I am glad the Minister has acted to look into this issue and has set up an investigation to establish the situation and details of events.

“In the past, we have received a number of complaints about repairs in South Belfast and I am pleased that the Minister Alex Attwood has acted.

“It’s very important that the public have full confidence in the Housing Executive I hope this investigation can ensure this.”
