Anna Lo MLA said: “This must have been a horrific ordeal for the young victim. My thoughts are with her during her recovery.
“This is the second rape in South Belfast in the past week. I have been saying for months that South Belfast needs more police resources devoted to patrolling problem areas to prevent such attacks. There has been a definite increase in this type of incident in the area over the past year.
“The catalogue of attacks on woman in South Belfast is nothing short of shocking. Urgent action must be taken to reduce these attacks. I would also appeal to anyone with information on this incident to contact police immediately.”
