During a planned search of a house in the Rathenraw area Police recovered a sawn-off shotgun and drugs worth an estimated street value of £70,000.
Councillor Neil Kelly said: I would like to congratulate the police for an effective, successful operation in tackling drug crime in Antrim.
“It is worrying to hear of this type of find in the Antrim area, but the streets are certainly safer for it having been discovered and removed.
“PSNI officers are working effectively to address all types of crime in the area and the local community is very important in ensuring this continues.
“I would urge anyone with information about matters relating to drugs or other crimes to contact the police immediately.”
