Cllr Máire Hendron said: “This was a very worrying incident and I am sure it has been very shocking for people in the locality.
“Given that the ground was actually trembling at the location this provides an insight into how potentially dangerous the situation could have been.
“I want to praise the authorities on their speedy actions in dealing with what was a very difficult situation. This was a good example of a coherent strategic approach which has dealt effectively with a very complicated set of circumstances.”
