Hendron condemns vandalism at St Matthew’s Church in Short Strand

Local Alliance Councillor Máire Hendron has condemned vandalism at St Matthew’s Church in Short Strand in East Belfast. Red white and blue paint was thrown at the Church in an overnight attack.

Councillor Máire Hendron said: “This nasty and hateful vandalism simply has to stop. This is the second attack on the Church in the space of a week and these types of acts have no place in our society. People across East Belfast are sick of incidents like this.

“Those trying to create tensions will fail because so much good work has been done across the community to maintain good relations. Anyone with information on this incident should contact police immediately because those involved must be brought to justice.”
