Hendron appalled by East Belfast racist attack

Alliance Belfast Deputy Lord Mayor Maire Hendron has condemned a racist attack which took place in Edith Street in East Belfast on Saturday 5th July. Stones were thrown by two males at a house causing damage to windows. The Police are treating it as a racially motivated attack.

Cllr Maire Hendron said: “I am shocked and appalled that this racist attack has taken place. Crimes of this nature have no place in our society and are completely unacceptable.

“We must do more than simply condemn these attacks, which is why it was important that the long awaited racial equality strategy was finally published last month.

“I would urge anybody who may have information about this incident to contact the Police and help bring those responsible to justice.”
