Maire Hendron said: “This was a brutal attack and whoever was behind this attack meant to kill this man. I would like to extend my sympathies to the family and friends of this man
“I am shocked that such a vicious murder could be carried out so close to Woodbourne Police Station. They must ensure that they get to the bottom of this barbaric murder.
“If anybody has any information about this murder then they should come forward and contact the police. The public must help the police catch these thugs so that they face the full force of the law.”
