Frazer praises firefighters following timber yard fire

Newtownabbey Alliance Councillor Lynn Frazer has praised the efforts of firefighters who brought under control a fire at Eglantine Timber yard on the Glenville Road in the early hours of Monday morning. The fire fighters were able to prevent the fire spreading to the main building.

Cllr Lynn Frazer said: “The fire fighters who brought this fire under control and prevented it from spreading to the main building deserve much praise.

“The police are currently investigating the circumstances and business’s owners and local people want to know the cause of the blaze.

“Every day throughout Northern Ireland our firefighters show real bravery and professionalism and this was another example of that. This fire could have resulted in much more damage to the timber yard had it not been for their efforts.”
