Lagan Valley Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn said: “This robbery must have been very traumatic for the victim. This is a horrific incident which has sent shock waves through the whole community.
“The robbery must have been very clearly planned as a number of people were involved in it.
“One cannot even comprehend the mind of someone who would rob an 89 year-old pensioner.
“My thought are with the victim of the robbery at this distressing time. I would like to call on anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the time of the robbery to contact police.”
