David Ford MLA said: “I was deeply saddened to learn of his death. He will be warmly remembered at how he could present complex issues to viewers. His long career in the media was a testament to his outstanding journalistic abilities.
“We will remember his overcoat and Belfast accent but we will also recall his deep humanity.
“On behalf of the Alliance Party, I would like to extend my condolences to his family and friends.”
