Ford and Frazer meet with Knockview/Woodford residents to discuss concerns over plans

David Ford MLA and Cllr Lynn Frazer met with residents from the Knockview/Woodford area to discuss concerns over the proposed development plans for the old Ballyduff Primary School site.

David Ford MLA said, “We have had a very positive meeting with residents to discuss the potential impact of the plans. The residents have expressed their reservations concerning access and layout. The plan for a through road connecting Fairview and Knockview is of particular concern. This will cause a significant increase in the flow of traffic onto quiet streets, causing a number of safety concerns.

However, the group is careful to state that they do not oppose the plans for social housing completely.

Cllr Frazer said “I am fully supportive of Oaklee’s Plans to provide social housing in the Ballyduff School site. By developing the site they will not only provide much needed housing but also improve the appearance and hopefully reduce the incidence of anti-social behaviour within the wider Ballyduff/Woodford area. However, I do have concerns around certain aspects of the development and I hope these will be addressed at a meeting with Planners and Oaklee Housing.”

David Ford said: “We are seeking dialogue between developers, planners and residents to ensure a positive outcome for all”.
