Councillor Barney Fitzpatrick said: “The North Coast is now a well-known golf venue and this announcement further cements its status as one of Northern Ireland’s leading golfing areas.
“This positive news will be welcomed by the entire community, who have worked hard to see both Portrush and Portstewart established as a sought-after location for these tournaments.
“This is also fantastic news for the local economy and will give tourism a major boost. I hope to see as many people as possible coming along to enjoy the event.”
