Cllr. Barney Fitzpatrick stated: “Our hearts go out to all those employees, and their families, who will lose their jobs particularly so early in this New Year. I am extremely worried about the impact this news will have on the local economy in Coleraine.
“This announcement is a real body blow to the town. The knock-on effects of such a potential loss of employment will be devastating for the wider area.
“In our present economic difficulties this news could not have come at a worse time. We need to see the relevant Stormont Ministers doing all they can to maintain these posts and put in place support to minimise the problems facing employees.”
