Fitzpatrick says retain crèche at University of Ulster in Coleraine

Alliance Coleraine Councillor Barney Fitzpatrick has given his support to the campaign to retain crèche facilities at the University of Ulster Coleraine campus. There is currently a consultation process under way on this issue.

Cllr Barney Fitzpatrick said: “I am extremely concerned that crèche facilities may be lost at the Coleraine campus. If these facilities were lost then it could seriously hamper the education of those students who avail of this service. Some might even find it impossible to continue their studies.

“Some prospective students may be put off studying in Coleraine if there is no crèche on campus, so it would be in the University’s best interest to retain this service.

“I would strongly urge the Vice-Chancellor Prof Richard Barnett to keep this service on campus in Coleraine..”
