Cllr Barney Fitzpartick said: “I strongly welcome the regeneration announcement from the Minister today. It will help revitalise the town and boost the local economy with the creation of new jobs.
“This exciting project will be of great benefit to the entire region. Hopefully there will also be a new hotel built in the Harbour area of the town in the near future, and other significant developments to follow. These projects will give the town a much more continental feel and will boost the local tourism industry.”
