Election shows that public want progress and positive politics

Lagan Valley Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn has said that the local Westminster election results are a victory for progress and positive politics. He also said they were a victory against cuts in Northern Ireland proposed by David Cameron

Trevor Lunn said: “The Westminster results in Northern Ireland are a victory for positive politics.

“The fact that Alliance did so well shows that people want politics that works for all and they want a shared future. These election results are a genuine vote for progress and for the work of the institutions here.

“This is a new era in politics in Northern Ireland, ushered in by Naomi Long and her excellent victory in East Belfast.

“The elections are also a vote against the unfair cuts that the Conservatives are proposing in Northern Ireland. People want stability and growth and Alliance will deliver that.”
