DUP silly games won’t let Brimstone off the hook: Dickson

Alliance Social Development spokesperson, Stewart Dickson MLA, has said the use of inappropriate language by Sammy Wilson at today’s DSD Committee meeting was just an attempt to deflect attention from the evidence of the Social Development Minister’s Special Adviser Stephen Brimstone in relation to the Spotlight allegations.

Sammy Wilson refused to withdraw his accusation that Jim Allister was a ‘thug’, which forced the Committee Chair to suspend the meeting for the day.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Sammy Wilson’s use of inappropriate language at the Social Development Committee was merely an attempt to divert attention from the evidence of Stephen Brimstone.

“The decision to end the questioning today will not let Mr Brimstone off the hook. I will be speaking to the Chair to ensure that he returns to give evidence at the next available date. I will not let the DUP’s silly games get in the way of the truth.”
