DUP and Sinn Fein must not play games at Executive

Alliance Chief Whip Kieran McCarthy MLA has blasted the DUP and Sinn Fein respectively for appearing to prevent the 11-plus and the Maze stadium decision from being discussed in the Executive today. He has accused them of being a playground government over their immature and damaging political games.

Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “These are to massively important matters which need to be discussed urgently. We have had well over a year of delays on both issues and the public will accept no more.

“It’s time for the childish games to stop. The DUP and Sinn Fein are being totally immature and in being like this they are doing Northern Ireland no favours.

“How can the public have any confidence in politicians who run away from discussing important matters? The Northern Ireland economy and our vital public services are suffering because of this playground government.”
