Alliance Lisburn Cllr Brian Dornan has condemned those behind a letter bomb which was found in a postal sorting office in Lisburn. It was addressed to a senior police office and follows a similar device found at a Mallusk sorting office which was addressed to the Chief Constable.
Cllr Brian Dornan said: “Lives were put at risk by the mindless and reckless actions of those behind this device. The people responsible have no regards for the well-being of other people, including the postal staff who handled this letter bomb.
“I am deeply concerned at the recent attacks on the police including these letter bombs and the pipe bomb attacks in Derry and Newtownabbey. The PSNI are working on behalf of the whole community to maintain the rule of law and to protect the public. I know the vast majority of the public share my revulsion of these attacks.
“If anybody has any information about this letter bomb then I would urge them to contact the police.”
