The development, which consists of a mixture of special needs and social housing, has been proposed by the Clanmil Housing Association on the site of the old Woodside’s Supermarket at Joymount in the town.
“Nearly 50 new homes will be built in this development. It is well needed in Carrickfergus and will hopefully begin in spring 2017,” said Mr Dickson.
“I commend Clanmil on their excellent consultation with the community to date. I also trust the Mid and East Antrim Council planners and elected representatives will ensure this much anticipated facility becomes a reality.”
