Dickson sickened by those who ordered bus driver to take bomb to police station

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has condemned those who ordered a bus driver in Londonderry to drive a bomb to Strand Road police station. A masked man got on the bus on Wednesday night and told the bus driver to take a bomb to the Strand Road police station. The bus driver stopped a short distance later and got everybody off the bus. The police and army technical officers dealt with the device which was described as viable.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “I am sickened and outraged by those responsible for this attempted bomb attack. There can be no place in our society for such disgusting actions.

“I would like to commend the bravery and courage demonstrated by this bus driver who ensured that all the passengers got off the bus safely. The heroic actions of this bus driver stand in stark contrast to the callous and cruel actions of those responsible for this bomb.

“I would urge anybody with any information about this attempted bomb attack to contact the police.”
