Dickson says Robinson is only interested in politics of ‘us and them’

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has said that Peter Robinson is increasing tensions by his continued claims that the PSNI and the judiciary are discriminating against loyalists. The First Minister has refused to back down despite the Lord Chief Justice warning of the dangers of politicians interfering in the judicial process.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “This has just confirmed what we already knew; that Peter Robinson is only interested in the politics of ‘us and them’. He is heightening tensions with these unacceptable comments. No politician should ever seek to direct a judge on an individual case.

“He has said that he is the First Minister of the people but this statement shows that he is only interested in being the First Minister of Unionism.

“I do not share the politics of Mr Robinson. He wants to exclude people. I want to appeal and work on behalf of everyone.”
