The paramilitary-style incident happened around 5.30pm today (Wednesday) in Dunluskin Gardens. The victim has been taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.
“I condemn this act unreservedly,” said Mr Dickson.
“There can never be any excuse for people taking the law into their own hands. Those behind this attack must face the full force of the law. Local people have had enough and do not want to see it.
“I would encourage anyone with information on this incident to contact police immediately.”
