Dickson presses Minister on A2 upgrade

East Antrim Alliance MLA Stewart Dickson has pressed Minister Danny Kennedy about whether he intends to reverse the decision not to progress with the A2 upgrade. The road runs between Carrickfergus and Belfast and Mr Dickson asked him about the issue in an Assembly Question.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “The upgrade is vital not only for people in the area but for business and tourism. I asked the Minister if he would reverse the decision not to go ahead with the upgrade and he said he intends to consider proposed investment across his Department, including the impact of the 2010 Budget, and explore opportunities for bring forward schemes like the A2.

“I will continue to keep pressing for the upgrade of the A2 until the scheme is delivered as this is an extremely important issue and is a much-needed road improvement.”
