Dickson condemns death threat against McGuinness

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has condemned the death threat that has been issued to deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness. The PSNI contact Mr McGuinness to warn him of a threat against his life by dissident republicans. It is believed the threat is linked to his recent condemnation of dissident terrorist activity.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “There is absolutely no justification for threatening the life of any person.

“It is unacceptable that Martin and a number of other politicians have had to deal with threats or attacks in recent months. Elected representatives should be able to work on behalf of their constituents without such threats.

“I would like to offer my support and solidarity to Martin and any other politician who has faced such a threat.

“I would urge anybody with any information about this death threat to contact the police.”
