Dickson concerned at plans to close Whitehead Northern Bank branch

East Antrim Alliance MLA Stewart Dickson has expressed deep concern that the Northern Bank is planning to close its Whitehead branch in October. He said he will endeavour to meet with representatives from the Northern Bank and people who bank there as well as other residents in the area to discuss the issue.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “This is a deeply worrying development. This branch provides an important service for people in Whitehead and I would like to see it retained.

“I will endeavour to meet with Whitehead residents who bank with the Northern Bank and others too to get their views on this. I will also be endeavouring to meet with representatives of the Northern Bank to discuss this important issue.

“The Northern Bank is the only bank with a branch in Whitehead and to lose this branch would be a retrograde step for Whitehead.”
