Cllr Mulvenna said: “This is a terrible attack on a woman doing nothing more than driving her car down the road minding her own business. The violence that this man showed is worrying. I know many people will be concerned until this man is caught.
“My sympathy goes out to this woman and I hope she is able to recover quickly from her ordeal.
“I would urge anybody with any information about this attack to contact the police. This man may attempt this again and the victim might suffer worse injuries than just facial injuries.”
