Curran congratulates South Belfast group on funding boost

Alliance South Belfast Councillor Cathy Curran has said she is delighted Windsor Women’s Centre has been awarded funding totalling £70,000 by Belfast City Council.

The project was one of 20 regeneration schemes across the city awarded a funding boost by Belfast City Council, totally 1.25 million. Part of the Local Investment Fund (LIF), the funding initiative is part of the Council’s wider Investment Programme 2012-15.

Councillor Cathy Curran said: “I am delighted Belfast City Council has been able to recognise Windsor Women’s Centre in this way, and I am proud to have supported them in this achievement. £70,000 will go a long way in helping this worthwhile group continue its good work.

“My colleague Anna Lo MLA and I have been long term supporters of Windsor Women’s Centre and continue to admire the work that they do. The centre is not only a good resource for South Belfast women, but also makes a necessary impact on families and the wider community.

“On a wider note I want to congratulate all of the schemes recognised in this latest round of funding. The Investment Programme allows the Council to put much needed resources not only back into the heart of the city, but back into our local communities where it really matters to ratepayers.”
