Councillor McCudden condemns Ballyclare burglary

Alliance Councillor Pat McCudden has condemned a burglary in the Rathmena area of Ballyclare.

The burglary is the latest in a series of incidents across Newtownabbey, which CouncillorMcCudden says the PSNI must deal with in a “quick and effective manner”.

Councillor Pat McCudden said: “It is disappointing that another burglary has occurred in Ballyclare. We are seeing an increasing number of incidents across Newtownabbey and we need to address this issue now.

“At the end of June I, along with my Newtownabbey Borough Council Alliance colleagues, met with D District Area Commander Stephen Reid to highlight the growing problem inthe area and it is disappointing to hear of another home owner being targeted, this time in Ballyclare. The PSNI must deal with this latest incident in a quick and effective manner.

“I completely condemn this burglary and would call for anyone with information ofthose involved to contact the police as soon as possible. The people responsible must be brought tojustice.

“I would also call on all home and business owners to ensure they are taking the correctprecautions to protect their property. There are many simple measures everyone can take, ensuring thieves have less chance of success.”
