Cochrane warns people to be vigilant following approaches made to children in East Belfast

Alliance East Belfast Cllr Judith Cochrane has urged parents to be vigilant following approaches made in children in the East Belfast area. Four separate times, a man in a silver car was spotted acting suspicious near children, police are investigating a link between them. A man in a silver car tried to grab two young boys into his car on Saturday night on Euston Street, a man in a silver car approached a girl on Lord Street on Tuesday before she ran away, a man in a silver car talked to a boy on Wednesday on Clarawood Park and a man in a silver car was acting suspicious in the Beersbridge area.

Cllr Judith Cochrane said: “As a parent myself, I know that concern for the safety of their children is always at the front of a parent’s mind and there will be even more worry following these incidents. I would ask people to be vigilant for any further approaches to children and remind children of the dangers of talking to strangers

“The Police are investigating a link between these incidents and I am glad that they are treating it with the seriousness it deserves.

“If anybody has any information about these incidents then they should contact the police.
