Cochrane takes part in World Peace Day event at Stormont

East Belfast Alliance MLA Judith Cochrane has taken part in an event to mark World Peace Day today at Stormont and said the day offers the chance to reflect on the need to build a shared future in Northern Ireland. She took part in the Arts & Disability Forum event in the Great Hall at Stormont where people were making origami cranes to raise awareness and mark the day.

Judith Cochrane MLA said: “World Peace Day provides a great opportunity for people to reflect on the progress made in Northern Ireland and the work that still needs to be done to build the genuine shared future that is essential. I was very pleased to be able to take part in the Arts & Disability Forum event at Stormont to mark World Peace Day.

“Tackling division in our society is crucial to cement the stability we have, and to help us create a better and more prosperous society. Peace is a prize that should be cherished and it is vital that there is no complacency, and that every effort is made to continue to improve community relations here.”
