Cochrane looks forward to ‘Moving Northern Ireland PLC Forward’ event

Alliance East Belfast MLA Judith Cochrane will be meeting with business leaders through her involvement with the MBA Association of Ireland including their most recent event at Belfast’s NYSE office entitled, ‘Moving Northern Ireland PLC Forward’.

The theme of the event will focus on the link between the prosperity of Northern Ireland and the skills of its workforce in meeting the needs of the local economy, in order to support a strong export oriented market, and to secure the wealth creating opportunities of the future.

Jointly hosted by the MBA Association and the Chartered Management Institute, a selection of impressive local speakers, including Ken Belshaw (Co-founder of Grafton Recruitment), Bill McGinnis CBE (Northern Ireland Adviser on Employment and Skills) and Roger Warnock, (DETI Project Executive) shed some light on the necessary leadership and skills required to grow a dynamic and innovative economy.

Speaking before the event, Judith Cochrane MLA said: “The future of the Northern Ireland brand, particularly following the successes of NI2012, is of vital significance as we seek to navigate our way out of the current economic slump, identify opportunities for growth and equip ourselves to succeed. The line-up of speakers confirmed for the event will undoubtedly help to give additional insights into how best we meet the challenges ahead and the combined experience of those involved is unparalleled.

“Ken Belshaw will outline the importance of effective management and leadership skills; Bill McGinnis CBE will discuss the importance of ‘skills’ in supporting a dynamic and innovative economy; and Roger Warnock will share his experience of social innovation and entrepreneurship and his development of a new business start-up model – JumpstartNI to be launched later this year, all in all guaranteed to provide a unique and exciting experience for those in attendance.”
