Cochrane gives local businesses a boost

Alliance MLA Judith Cochrane has helped give local businesses a step up the ladder with an event giving them direct access to Ministers and Government agencies.

The Business Support Clinic, held today (Thursday) at City Hall, provided an opportunity for companies to hear first-hand from other entrepreneurs on their experiences and knowledge about how to be successful in the current marketplace.

East Belfast MLA Mrs Cochrane, Chair of the Assembly’s All-Party Group (APG) on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), said the event provided vital support in key areas such as starting a business, gaining finance and growing its employment.

“Alliance is dedicated to assisting local businesses in any way we can. Today’s event was another way in which practical help was given, with many organisations availing of the chance to speak about the issues affecting them and receiving useful tips in return.

“I hope the businesses can now take that advice and put it to good use. By doing so, they will help create jobs and give the economy the boost it needs.”
