“As a member of the Health Committee in the previous Assembly, I am fully aware the DUP and Sinn Fein were briefed continuously over the past few mandates about the deepening crisis in the GP sector.
“They have been warned of the stark reality of failing to reform the health and social care sector, and yet they continue to put other matters of self-interests for their political parties before the health and well-being needs of the people of Northern Ireland.
“This impending situation with the Tullycarnet branch of Bridges Family Practice is now part of a catastrophic situation developing and I would urge the DUP, Sinn Fein and any other political party standing in the way of reaching a deal at Stormont to reflect on the health needs of the people who are so reliant on a functioning Executive to deliver an effective service.”
