Alliance Coleraine Councillor Yvonne Boyle has expressed her sympathy to the family of a man who died after he fell into the sea in Portstewart yesterday afternoon. Stanley Duncan was fishing near the harbour when he fell into the water, he was helped by other fishermen before being rescued by a lifeboat but later died in hospital.
Cllr Yvonne Boyle said: “I would like to express my heartfelt sympathies to the family of Mr Duncan. This is an absolute tragedy which has shocked the local community.
“I would urge everybody to be cautious if they are near the sea and take extra safety measures.”
