Boyle condemns attacks on Coleraine’s Mayor home

Alliance Councillor Yvonne Boyle, Coleraine’s Deputy Mayor, has condemned a hate-crime attack on the home of the Mayor of Coleraine.

The latest in a series of on-going attacks this year, police have classed graffiti daubed on the home of Councillor George Duddy as a hate crime. The incident occurred late on Sunday night.

Councillor Yvonne Boyle, the Deputy Mayor of Coleraine, said: “I am absolutely disgusted at this latest attack on Councillor Duddy’s home.

“We live in a democratic society and our elected representatives have been given a mandate by voters – a mandate they must be allowed to follow without the fear of coming under attack for their political views.

“As Deputy Mayor, I have worked closely with Councillor Duddy in his role as Mayor and we must unite behind him to send a strong message that these on-going attacks won’t be tolerated. I would encourage anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
