The South Antrim MLA said: “This is great news that a major airline has chosen to invest such a substantial amount of money in Northern Ireland.
“This announcement will also mean that there are more destinations for Northern Ireland tourists to fly to, which will also mean that more people can fly straight to Northern Ireland that is sure to increase tourist levels.
“The fact that Belfast International beat off competition from other airports such as Birmingham shows that Northern Ireland is truly becoming a very competitive force for attracting investment.
“I also call on the Executive to make Northern Ireland as attractive as possible to investors if we are to build on this good news.”
